STARBIOS2 : Structural Transformation to Attain Responsible BIOSciences
is a European project that received funding from the Horizon 2020 programme. It aims to implement the Responsible Research and Innovation-RRI approach in research institutions through Action Plans.
The topic of this year’s edition of BSS is Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) in Biosciences.
RRI is a strategy which goal is to reinforce interactions between science and society. As these connections are loose nowadays, research and innovation are in need to find tools to meet the expectations of society in the best possible way.
RRI concentrates around five key issues: education, open access, ethics, public engagement and gender. All of them are meant to be addressed through various activities by scientists taking part in STARBIOS 2 project.
